Getting started
Connect a MYM account
Add a creator, connect her MYM account and read the connection status.
Fansquare works on each creator's MYM account. Until that account is connected, messaging stays empty for her. You connect one creator at a time, from Creators › Creators.
Only the agency owner and employees with the Associé role can connect or disconnect a MYM account. Other team members do not see the Connection column.
The two parts of a connection
A creator's Connections window has two parts. A full connection needs both.
| Part | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Credentials | The creator's MYM email and password. They link her MYM account to her profile and open her MYM pages inside the app (the MYM group of the sidebar). |
| API Key | The key of her MYM account, starting with ck_live_. It syncs the account's conversations, sales and events, and powers messaging, Mass DMs and automations. |
Connect a creator
- 1
Add the creator
In Creators › Creators, click Add a creator. Enter her name and her gender, both required, then, if you like, her group, a note and a photo.
- 2
Open the Connections window
On the creator's row, click the Connection button in the column of the same name.
- 3
Sign in with her MYM credentials
In the Credentials part, click Connection, then enter the email and password of her MYM account. When MYM allows it, Fansquare also retrieves the API key during this sign-in, and both parts are then connected.
- 4
Add the API key if it is missing
If the API Key part is not connected, click its Connection button, paste the key of the MYM account, then click Validate key. When Fansquare can retrieve the key by itself, an Auto-connect button appears in the field.
As soon as the key is validated, the sync starts. It fetches the conversation list and the sales history in parallel. The media come afterwards, through a separate task that runs regularly.
When the connection is refused
Wrong account: this MYM account is already connected to another creator profile in your agency, or this creator is already linked to another MYM account.
Oops you are using two-factor authentication: two-factor authentication is not compatible with Fansquare. The creator turns it off on MYM, then you sign in again.
You have reached the connection limit: too many attempts in a row. Wait 5 minutes before trying again.
Account not certified yet: the credentials are saved, but MYM does not provide an API key for this account yet. The full connection becomes possible once the account is certified.
An API key is refused if it belongs to a different MYM account than the creator's, or if her credentials were never connected.
Read the connection status
The button in the Connection column carries a round mark.
| Mark | What it means |
|---|---|
| Empty circle | Nothing is connected. |
| Half-filled circle | Only one of the two parts is connected. |
| Full circle, green | Both the credentials and the API key are connected. |
| Key revoked, in red | MYM refuses the creator's key. The sync is stopped. |
In the Connections window, the API Key part shows Pending while a saved key has not been validated yet.
Reconnect an account
MYM can revoke a creator's key. Fansquare only marks a key as revoked after two hours of continuous refusals, to ignore a passing MYM error.
Once the key is revoked, messaging shows MYM account disconnected for this creator. To restore the connection, open her Connections window, where the Your API key is no longer valid banner appears. In the API Key part, click Connection, shown in red, to open the field, paste a new key, then click Validate key. If MYM accepts the same key again at a later sign-in, the connection comes back by itself.
What a disconnection does
Each part has its own Logout button, with a different effect.
Credentials: Fansquare deletes the saved email and password, and removes every employee's access to this creator. The API key stays connected. After reconnecting, give the access back in Team › Employees (see Team and roles).
API Key: Fansquare stops the sync and no longer receives this account's events. A message scheduled for this creator is not sent.
Deleting a creator is not the same as disconnecting her. She disappears from Fansquare, her MYM credentials are deleted, the sync stops and every employee loses access to her. If you later connect the API key of the same MYM account on a new profile in the same agency, Fansquare links her already synced conversations and sales back to it.
